Fast können wir es selbst noch nicht fassen, aber es ist Tatsache: „Employee of the Day“ ist fertig!
Der abschließende kreative Schritt erfolgte am 11. März 2014 im großen Mischtonkino von Rotor Film Babelsberg, wo wir den Film erstmals vollständig gesehen und – was nicht zu unterschätzen ist – gehört haben.

Wir sind glücklich und erleichtert – und im großen und ganzen noch im Prozess des Sacken-Lassens, was vermutlich ein Weilchen dauert (falls da Leute auf der Straße sind, die etwas müde aussehen, aber trotzdem zufrieden grienen, könnten wir das gewesen sein). Zwischenzeitlich haben wir Auszeiten von Berlin und Post-Produktions-Erschöpfung hinter uns, und nun befassen wir uns damit, wie wir den Film nach erfolgreicher Geburt abnabeln und der Welt vorstellen können.
Das Datum einer ersten öffentlichen Aufführung steht derzeit noch nicht fest. Eine Berliner Premiere wird mutmaßlich um die Jahresmitte herum stattfinden, woran wir momentan arbeiten. Überhaupt beschäftigt uns jetzt fürs erste ein Wust administrativer und vertriebsvorbereitender Tätigkeiten: so die finalen Abrechnungen mit unseren Förderern, Festivalstrategie, DVD- und Webseitenplanung, und und und…
Wir wissen aber schon, dass wir von der FSK ab 6 freigegeben sind (ein Anlass, sich mal ein paar Gedanken über die Abgebrühtheit von Kindern hierzulande zu machen), und die FBW hat uns das Prädikat „wertvoll“ erteilt. Worüber wir uns sehr freuen!!
Alle weiteren Entwicklungen gibt es hier an dieser Stelle und demnächst auf einer Webpräsenz für den fertigen Film. Es bleibt spannend!

We can hardly believe it, but it’s a fact: Employee of the Day is completed!
The very last creative step was taken on March 11, 2014 in the huge sound mixing cinema at Rotor Film Babelsberg. For the first time we experienced the film in its finalized state – and we heared it, which is not to be underestimated.
We are glad, relieved and still in the process of letting it all sink in. Most certainly this will take us a while (if you happen to see some people on the street who look a bit tired but have a satisfied smirk on their faces, those could have been us). In the meantime we took breaks from Berlin, suffered post-production exhaustion – and finally got ourselves ready to cut the cord and present our baby to the world.
The date of the first public screening is currently not set. A Berlin premiere will presumably take place around mid-year / summer time; that’s what we try to schedule. Until then a pile of administrative and promotional work will keep us busy: i.e. final settlements with our sponsors, festival strategy, DVD and website design, and much more …
What we’ve already learnt is that the film has been „Rated 6″ (reason enough to spend some thoughts on the callousness of children in this country), and the Filmbewertungsstelle (German film advisory board) has granted us the title „wertvoll“ („to be of value„). We are very happy!!
